Once you have come along to one of our Welcome Sessions and have attended an ‘Understanding your Needs’ appointment with a member of the team, we will give you our Open Access Timetable for each Centre. This will show you the groups you can start coming along to from day one with no waiting list. These services are ideal to come along to while you’re waiting to access one of our courses, or if you want some light touch mental health support. All of these services are available for as long as you need them.
Some of these groups include:
Drop In – weekly drop in sessions at each Centre. Feel free to pop in as often as you like, grab a cuppa and have a chat with other women.
Creative Groups – weekly groups at each Centre where you can take part in creative activities.
Physical Activity Groups – weekly groups such as walking and exercise to help you improve your mental health and fitness at the same time!
Themed Groups – we offer a range of groups that meet regularly depending on the needs of the women accessing our services. These include drop in support for young women aged 16 – 25, a Sisterhood Circle for women from ethnically minoritised communities, Rise & Renew for women impacted by domestic abuse or crime, and a Mother & Baby Group. We also have a weekly group for women who experience low mood, anxiety and depression.
Therapeutic Activities – we run regular groups to improve wellbeing such as Positive Notes Singing Group, Relaxation, Creative Writing, Book Group, and some one to one Reiki sessions.
Sunday Lunch Group – we offer a fortnightly group for women to reduce social isolation, women come together to enjoy a meal and good company at our Newcastle Centre.
